Poker: Make sure your bets are convincing
Bluffing is about telling a story of a hand that you don’t really hold, so make sure that your betting is convincing.
Darrell Dicken didn’t, and it cost him.
At the World Poker Tour’s $15,000-buy-in Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Las Vegas’ Bellagio in 2007, Dicken drew 7-5 offsuit. With blinds at $100-$200, a tight player raised to $600 under the gun

Texas Hold ‘Em poker sessions a safe bet - without money
The growing popularity of Texas Hold ‘Em poker is evident at licensed restaurants in Northumberland County, at Ontario casinos and on television. Some area people play twice a week for points, enjoying a meal or drinks, but without betting money.
To bet using money, or where people or the venue gets a share of the pot, is illegal outside a licensed casino.
Texas Hold ‘Em is a game of skill that some say is mildly addictive. The game is described on Wikipedia, an Internet encyclopedia, as “Hold ‘Em is a community card game where each player may use any combination of the five community cards and the player’s own two hole cards to make a poker hand. (This is) in contrast to poker variants like stud or draw where each player holds a separate, individual hand.”

He is one of the most successful high limit players of the last decade. In 13th episode of the third season of High Stakes Poker, Booth stated that he has been playing poker every day for 14 years – first in Vancouver, then Calgary and then in Yukon hence his nickname “Yukon Brad” – but is now slowing down.
Booth appeared on the second season of NBC’s Poker After Dark on the episode “International Week” and finished in second place to Patrik Antonius.
As of 2007, his total live tournament winnings exceed $640,000.
NETeller and Canada
April 28, 2008
The NETELLER Group announced several significant changes to its services in a number of markets. Recent actions by regulators, payment processors, and online gaming operators have increased the uncertainty around certain activities related to online gambling in some jurisdictions. The Board of Directors of the Company reached a decision, on 25 March 2007, that the risk to the Group’s ongoing business in Canada and Turkey has increased in the light of such developments. The Board has therefore concluded that the Group will no longer process transfers related to online gambling sites on behalf of Canada or Turkey resident customers.
Reduced Service to Canada
* Cessation of Canadian transfers to gambling merchants: the Group will cease processing online gambling related transactions for Canada-resident customers with effect from 12.01 AM MST Monday 9 April 2007.
* Suspension of InstaCASH transactions: As of today Monday 26 March 2007, at 12:01 AM MST, Canada-resident customers were no longer able to deposit funds using NETELLER’s instaCASH service either directly or from any online gambling site.
* Non-gambling services continue: Canada-resident customers will continue to be able to use their e-wallet accounts for non-gambling transactions, including peer-to-peer and pre-paid debit transactions.
* Available customer funds: Customer funds, including those of Canadian residents, are held in a pooled, segregated trust account and will be available for withdrawal by customers, on demand. Canadian customers continue to be able to use their e-wallet accounts for non-gambling transactions
Well, that’s the official story. But Canadian Players should NOT panic. You have time to get your money out, if you so desire. And don’t forget that lots of rooms continued operations in the US after NETeller pulled out - these rooms WILL continue to serve the Canadian market.
