Casino partners go on media blitz

The newly announced partner in a campaign to build a casino in Clinton County fielded questions Thursday as the casino developers began a two-day circuit of the state’s major population and media centers.

The first stop was at Kenwood Towers in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati where Lakes Entertainment CEO Lyle Berman was introduced and drew the most questions from reporters.

‘Casino will bring billions in revenue’

Online Casino Player Wins $30,000

A twenty year old man Jonathan McCann, who is a resident of Little Broughton, has won $30,000 in an online poker championship.

Jonathan who is studying sports science at Liverpool said after the win that the entry for the tournament was $500.

“I qualified for the main tournament by playing in a $60 game earlier,” he said. He went on to say that he had won ?3,000, two weeks earlier but the $30,000 win was the biggest in his career.

Jonathan speaking about the current tournament said, that there were 170 players that took part in the tournament. “The victory was satisfying for me as these players must be serious players, for they had paid large sums to participate,” he said.

“It was a nice thing to learn that I can play with the bigger players,” he added.

Though this was not the only success the twenty year old had. Last year he participated in an international poker tournament in Monte Carlo, where he went up to the second day of the three day tournament.

He plans to save the winning amount and buy a house in the future. He looks forward to competing in the main tournament to be held on Sunday. He has played a qualifier tournament on Monday and will be competing in the UK Poker Tour on the week end.
