trump taj mahalThe Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort is located at 1000 Boardwalk Avenue, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the bustling casino area. The casino is owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts. With approximately 75 regular tables and 14 tournament tables, the Taj Mahal has one of the largest poker rooms in Atlantic City, second in size only to The Borgata. It is currently undergoing a $250 million renovation and addition of a new hotel tower, which commenced groundbreaking in July 2006. The hotel has 1,250 guest rooms, including 237 suites. The toiletries and soaps in the hotel are provided by high-end soap maker Dorothy Prentice Aromatherapy.

Donald Trump had owned the casino as majority owner of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2004.

Trump Plaza Atlantic City

trump plazaTrump Plaza Hotel and Casino is a Trump branded casino-hotel resort located on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey at Mississippi Avenue. Designed by architect Martin Stern, Jr., it was built in 1984 and is owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts, which also owns and operates Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and Trump Marina (both located in Atlantic City). Trump Plaza is adjacent to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall.

The complex was at the center of a major eminent domain court case in the mid-1990s, when Trump Enterprises sought to obtain the property of Vera Coking, a retired homeowner whose house was adjacent to Trump Plaza. (picture) In Coking vs. C.R.D.A., Donald Trump, and Trump Plaza, Mrs. Coking was victorious, and plans to build a limousine parking lot on her property were thwarted. There is a Rainforest Cafe in Trump Plaza. The World Wrestling Federation also held WrestleMania at the Trump Plaza in 1988 (WrestleMania IV) and 1989 (WrestleMania V).

The resort covers a 14.6 acre tract and includes a 74,252 square foot casino; 728 guest rooms (including 571 guest rooms, 60 Bay Tower suites and 97 luxury suites); seven restaurants(including the Trump buffet); a nightclub; a 462-seat showroom - The Shell; the 16,920 square foot Grand Cayman; recreation deck with a health spa, outdoor pool, tennis and shuffleboard courts, basketball courts, jogging track; 50,922 square feet of meeting and function space; a nine-story parking garage with direct walk-through into the complex; and the 640-slip Frank S. Farley State Marina (a public facility owned by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry, managed by Trump Marina Associates). Trump Marina Hotel Casino has earned the Five Star Diamond award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.

On December 12, 2007, control of hotel and casino operations were handed over to a trustee after the Casino Control Commission denied the Tropicana’s gaming license renewal. The Tropicana is, in part, the largest hotel in New Jersey, featuring 2,125 rooms, and is in part a 148,000 ft² (14,000 m²) casino.

It is the northernmost casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The property contains the House of Blues restaurant and has suites under the House of Blues name. In May 2003, the Showboat hotel added a new 544 room, $90 million dollar tower. The hotel consists of eight restaurants including the Canal Street Bread & Sandwich Company, Mansion Cafe, French Quarter Buffet, and others.

Resorts was the first casino hotel in Atlantic City, becoming the first legal casino in the eastern part of the United States, when it opened on May 26, 1978. Resorts has a 27-story hotel tower called the “Redezvous” with the largest standard guest rooms of all the casinos in Atlantic City. In 2005, before the completion of the Harrah’s Entertainment and Caesars EntertainmentAtlantic City Hilton to the Colony Capital, making Resorts and Hilton sister properties.

Harrah’s has three sister properties, Bally’s Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City (which were acquired by the Caesars Entertainment merger with Harrahs) and Showboat Casino, Atlantic City. Harrah’s has a bus service, The Total Rewards Shuttle that takes Harrah’s Entertainment patrons to all the Harrah’s owned properties in Atlantic City. Along with the other Harrah’s properties, guests have access to the Atlantic City Country Club, Harrahs owned and operated.

The Claridge Casino at Bally’s is a casino located at Bally’s Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Formerly known as the Claridge Hotel and Casino, the resort was officially acquired by Bally’s on December 30, 2002. Located between Park Place and Illinois Avenue, the Claridge is set off the Boardwalk behind Brighton Park. As of present the hotel is part of Bally’s Atlantic City.
