Flames lend ‘hands’ at charity poker tables
February 26, 2009
On the day of the Calgary Flames Ambassadors’ fourth annual poker tournament, it made sense to ask–who is the best card player on the current squad?
And the worst?
Those nominated as card sharps were Cory Sarich, Eric Nystrom, David Moss, Daymond Langkow, Matthew Lombardi, Michael Cammalleri.
“Cammy’s a guy who thinks he’s good, but that’s part of it–you have to think you’re good,” Moss said Wednesday afternoon. “You’ve got to be confident. It’s all attitude.”
Added Nystrom: “I am (the best), obviously. We had a 10-man game not too long ago and I cleaned up pretty good.”
(Nearly managing to suppress a chuckle, Adrian Aucoin claimed to like Andre Roy’s poker-table abilities. “He’s very good at keeping his composure when pressure’s on.”)
As far as pigeons, Miikka Kiprusoff admitted that he’s an easy mark. “Me, for sure.”
