May 26, 2008
Glen Chorny is a Canadian poker player from Waterloo, Ontario. He is currently a student at Wilfrid Laurier University and has been playing professionally since January 2008.
Chorny’s first European Poker Tour cash came at the PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure in January 2008 when he finished in 13th place. At the ripe age of 22, Chorny defeated 842 players at the 2008 European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo. He took home the biggest first place prize in EPT history at just under $3.2 million.
Even though he had only been legal for four years in Europe and one year in the United States before that win, Chorny had already made a few major tournament cashes including a win in the 2008 World Poker Open $5,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha championship.
As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $3,300,000
