Old Casino Chip gets Large Price on Ebay

A Florissant, Mo., woman bagged nearly $29,000 on eBay selling a rare $1 casino chip from the Showboat Casino that operated in Las Vegas from 1954 to 2001. She had kept in a jewelry box for nearly 48 years. Last weekend’s high bid of $28,988.88 is thought to be the richest price ever paid for a $1 chip, according to Sheldon Smith, a spokesman for the Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collectors Club Inc.
